President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued proclamations declaring special non-working days in several parts of the country, allowing residents to fully participate in local celebrations and commemorations.

Under Proclamation No. 1207, President Marcos declared April 20, Monday, as a special non-working day in the City of Tarlac to mark its 28th Charter Anniversary.

The occasion is originally celebrated on April 19, which falls on a Sunday this year. However, the proclamation stated that the local government requested that the celebration be moved to Monday to give the people of the City of Tarlac a full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the festivities.

The President likewise issued Proclamation No. 1208, declaring April 20 a special non-working day in the Municipality of Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya, for its founding anniversary.

Furthermore, the Chief Executive issued Proclamation No. 1209, declaring April 23, Thursday, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Plaridel, Bulacan.

The date marks the anniversary of the historic “Battle of Quingua”, a significant encounter during the Philippine-American War in which Filipino forces led by General Gregorio del Pilar achieved a notable victory.

Lastly, Proclamation No. 1211 declared April 25, Saturday, a special non-working day in the Province of Nueva Ecija to celebrate its founding anniversary.

All proclamations were signed on March 30, 2026. | PND
