For Peace and Restoration  Photo Release 14 December 2107 -After a three-hour joint session, both houses of Congress expressed overwhelming support with a total of 240 “yes” votes to extend martial rule in Mindanao from 01 January to 31 December 2018. The House of Representatives delivered 226 affirmative votes while the Senate gave 14 votes. Mindanao lawmakers, including Lanao del Norte Rep. Ansaruddin Adiong, emphasized the need to stop violence and extremism in  Mindanao, allow unhampered effort to rehabilitate Marawi City, and ensure the safety of Mindanaoans. FG/PC
